Mandli's LRIS utilizes a line-scan camera system that combines two downward-pointed cameras with infrared lasers that artificially illuminate the pavement surface. The high-resolution images provide a consistent distress analysis of any changes in the structure and condition of the pavement. The images are captured continuously using line scan camera technology, which allows for the seamless collection of pavement imaging. The speed of the line scan cameras assures complete coverage of the lane of travel without gaps and seams in the images. The images can then be segmented to correspond with the right-of-way image interval. The cameras are sealed within a weatherproofed case for protection from the environment and from theft.
