Roadview 6 Measurement Tool Window

Mandli's asset measurement tools provide a cost-effective and safe method of calculating accurate asset data. Our Roadview 6 software includes measurement tools allowing users to measure assets from our high-resolution roadway images. With traditional methods, a project requires a trained staff of multiple personnel willing to work in the field, sometimes compromising their own safety. With Roadview 6 software, measurements can be performed in the office, in minutes, and simultaneously entered into a feature inventory database.

Features

  • Measure assets without going into the field
  • Safe and cost-effective
  • Accurate and repeatable results

Measurement Accuracies

Listed below are the standard deviations of measurements for road signs and pavement markings achieved with a variety of sign types. The dimensions are in inches, z values are in feet. The value as a percentage of the sign size is in parentheses.

Signs on Right

  • Sign width - 0.44 in. (1.5%)
  • Sign height - 0.56 in. (1.7%)
  • Z value calculated from width measurement - 0.17 ft.
  • Z value calculated from height measurement - 1.24 ft.

Signs on Left

  • Sign width - 1.67 in.(5.4%)
  • Sign height - 1.25 in.(3.3%)
  • Z value calculated from width measurement - 5.50 ft.
  • Z valud calculated from height measurement - 3.16 ft.

Signs Overhead

  • Sign width - 0.88 in.(1.1%)
  • Sign height - 1.63 in.(10.2%)
  • Z value calculated from width measurement - 0.95 ft.
  • Z valud calculated from height measurement - 10.50 ft.

Lane Width

  • Width deviation -1.06 ft.(9.2%)
  • Z value calculated from width measurement - 0.95 ft.

These standard deviations have all been calculated using the same vanishing point, which is what would be expected if an asset were measured several times manually.
